Brian is a Principal at Monteagle Advisory, providing forensic accounting and mergers and acquisitions advisory services to clients. He has over 18 years of experience and is a certified public accountant, accredited in business valuation, certified in financial forensics, and a certified fraud examiner. He has provided clients with consulting and expert witness services in disputes, focusing on lost profits and economic damages determinations, forensic accounting, financial investigations, and valuation services across various industries. He has served as a financial consultant in numerous criminal fraud matters. He has testified as an expert witness in state and in arbitration, and has been designated as an expert in federal court. He has also led financial due diligence projects for both buyers and sellers on over 100 entities with an aggregate deal transaction value of over $500 million.
Brian is experienced in reconstructing accounting records and tracing cash flows to determine the sources and uses of funds. He has investigated allegations of money laundering, bank and securities fraud, false claims, and bribery, amongst others. He has provided consulting services to clients regarding financially troubled and insolvent businesses. He has analyzed potentially fraudulent or preferential transfers made by debtors; analyzed the ordinary course of business between debtor and creditor, and valued the consideration received when debtors transferred assets. He has performed financial due diligence for pending acquisitions, assisted start-up businesses in developing financial projections and operating models, and prepared cash flow projections.
Brian began his career in the audit department of a large public accounting firm and led financial audits of a wide variety of entities, including privately held, not-for-profit, and governmental clients, and thereafter was a partner at a regional litigation support firm.
